Marianne advises clients in the areas of data protection, education law, employment law, and trust and charity law. A graduate of Trinity College Dublin (LL.B), Marianne has completed her LL.M (data protection) with the University of Northumbria, and is undertaking her doctorate (LL.D) in the area of data protection. Marianne has a Diploma in Finance Law (Law Society of Ireland), is a Trust and Estate Practitioner (STEP, Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, the worldwide professional body for trust and estate practitioners), and holds a Diploma in Employment Law (UCD). Marianne has a special interest in data protection, and holds the following qualifications:
- Certificate in Data Protection Practice (Law Society of Ireland)
- Professional Certificate in Data Protection (UCD, Institute of Banking)
- Certified Data Protection Officer (ACOI)
Marianne is member of the Irish Computer Society, the Association of Compliance Officers, and the Irish Centre for European Law. Marianne advises on data protection policies, access requests, data protection/privacy issues in the employment context, data breaches, and investigations by the Data Protection Commission. Marianne regularly speaks at conferences on interesting developments in the law of data protection and privacy.
